In early November of this year, the Philippines suffered from an exceptionally powerful Typhoon Yolanda (International name, Typhoon Haiyan) that devastated the whole Eastern and parts of Central Visayas.
As the victims seek hope from that shattering event, the spirit of unity has once again been shown by the Filipino community from other local and foreign regions. Celebrities, non-profits, religious groups and individuals from many countries have reached out to help the victims to provide relief and sustainable assistance.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Mavshack Philippines wants to help the affected areas rebuild and begin the process of reconstruction.
In partnership with Radio Veritas 846 Global Broadcasting System, Inc. a 24 hour Roman Catholic AM station owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila, through the Global Broadcasting System in the Philippines, and Caritas Manila, the leading Catholic agency for social services and development, Mavshack is launching a “Like for a Change” campaign beginning December 6th.

Sarah Geronimo admitted she was initially hesitant to record her new single “Tayo” for her latest album “Expressions.”
In a video uploaded by Viva Entertainment in its official YouTube account, Geronimo said the song’s strong lyrics made her think twice about recording it.
“The song ‘Tayo’ is another song from the Flip Music Production. At first medyo uncomfortable akong kantahin kasi parang in your face na ‘Mga pusong nadapa, tayo. Matutong tumingala.’ Parang ganun. Bilang alam naman ng mga tao ‘yung pinagdaanan ko rin,” she said.
The 25-year-old singer-actress, however, thought that it’s just right for the song to be part of her album because it reflects how she once felt.
“Naisip ko rin na itong album na ito, punong puno ng honesty, sincerity, so ituluy-tuloy ko na. Tutal ‘Expressions’ naman ito so another expression ‘yun na acceptance na lahat tayo nasasaktan. Ako nasasaktan. Sabay-sabay tayong tumayo,” she said.
In a past interview with “Buzz ng Bayan,” Geronimo admitted she has already fallen in love twice.
“Yung natutunan ko sa una? Natutunan ko ‘yung acceptance. Siguro, we’re not meant for each other. Siguro hindi pa lang ito ‘yung panahon namin. Pero importante sa lahat na napagpatuloy ‘yung friendship,” she said, while declining to name the guy.
Geronimo said her second attempt at love made her realize that she deserves someone better. But once again, she refused to identify the guy.
“Natutunan ko, magmahal ka ng totoo, ng tama. Ngayon kung hindi niya suklian, ay, sorry. At least ako naging totoo ako sa ‘yo, minahal kita ng totoo,” she said.
Geronimo had been romantically linked to actors Rayver Cruz, John Lloyd Cruz and Gerald Anderson and is currently being linked to actor Matteo Guidicelli.
As the Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo signed another two-year contract to extend her stay in ABS-CBN, her upcoming projects in the next year were also discussed by the Kapamilya bosses and her manager, Boss Vic del Rosario of VIVA Entertainment, Inc.
Sarah’s mentoring in the very successful The Voice of the Philippines will be followed, for she will be joining the second season of the talent search. She also shared that she learned a lot from the experience. “‘Yung sa ‘Voice,’ ‘yung pag-me-mentor ko doon, ang dami kong natutunan. ‘Yung pakikipag-socialize sa mga tao, pag-express ng thoughts at emotions mo. Importante nakikinig ka sa thought ng ibang tao pero importante na totoo ka sa sarili mo.”
In addition to this, the award-winning performer will also be acting once again on TV after the success of her last movie with John Lloyd Cruz, It Takes A Man and A Woman. Sarah wishes to act on the drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” again in the next year.
Sarah also mentioned that she wanted travel abroad again with her friends, just like last time when she went to Brazil with Georcelle Dapat-Sy of G-Force and KC Concepcion to watch Madonna in concert. “‘Yun siguro ang regalo ka para sa sarili ko yung mag-travel ulit,” Sarah said.
Very thankful for the blessed 2013 that she had, Sarah mentioned that she will be spending Christmas this year in the country with her family.
Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo is staying with ABS-CBN as she renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network for another two years on Monday.
“Solid Kapamilya po talaga,” Geronimo said. “Very grateful sa ABS-CBN kasi very welcome ako lagi dito and well-loved and appreciated, so where else I would rather be, hindi ba?”
Present during the contract signing were ABS-CBN executives led by president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, talent manager Vic del Rosario and Geronimo’s parents.
Part of her contract is another stint as a coach for the second season of the hit talent search “The Voice of the Philippines.”
“‘Yung ibang shows ay nasa planning stage pa. Serye? Hindi ko pa alam, aayusin pa natin,” she said.
“Ang paggawa ng serye, mahal ko din ‘yan pero kailangan ko ding alagaan ang boses ko. Kasi kapag gumagawa ka ng series talagang puyatan. Talagang ‘yung acting na gagamitin mo ‘yung boses mo ay hindi mo pwedeng [dayain] yan,” explained Geronimo, whose last series was “Idol” with Coco Martin in 2010.
Geronimo, however, said she hopes to appear again in the long-running drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
